- A shared printer in the corridorPatient A's lab results sit in the tray and get picked up with patient B's papers.
- Paper archives pile upOld forms and lab results need scanning, but the desk scanner takes one sheet at a time.
- A narrow registration deskNo room for a big machine.
- Purchasing decidesThe vendor is usually chosen by purchasing or accounting, who need written quotes they can compare.
The old way vs. with ASG

| Old machine sold or returned | Data in memory leaves with it | Data on the machine is encrypted, and the disk can be handed to the clinic |
| Scanning archives one by one | Staff spend a day at the scanner | 45-page-per-minute scanner, double-sided |
| Vendor wants the machine online | Clashes with network rules | Meter read directly on the machine |

rental FAQ
All FAQs How do we protect patient data when printing?
Use PIN printing on an ASG rental machine.
Documents wait in the machine and only come out after staff enter a PIN on the screen, so medical records and lab results aren't left in the tray.
ASG rents Kyocera, Epson, and HP multifunction printers with this feature.
How does PIN printing work?
Staff set a PIN when printing from the computer.
The document is held in the machine and released when the same PIN is entered on its screen. The Kyocera MA4000x needs an add-on SD card; the MA6000ifx and A3 machines have internal storage.
Is the data on the machine safe when the contract ends?
Yes.
Documents sent to an ASG rental machine are encrypted, so they can’t simply be read.
If the clinic wants more certainty, the SSD or hard disk can be handed to you when the contract ends, and you just cover the cost of a replacement disk.
Will it work with our clinic's medical records software?
The machine is installed as a standard network printer, so any software that prints to a Windows or Mac printer can use it. Our technician tests printing from the clinic's computers at installation.
We're a small clinic on a tight budget. Any options?
Yes. For clinics and small businesses, ASG has machines with a quota of 500 to 1,000 pages a month, so the cost stays small too.
Who usually handles the quote?
Usually purchasing or accounting. We send a written quote with the machine, print quota, what's included, and a tax invoice, so it's easy to compare with other vendors.
